· Details of your participation in other sailing courses and/or sea faring passages/experience;
· Any relevant dietary records and details of your dietary requirements.

· Recognised Training Centres, coaches, examiners, inspectors and assessors who will provide us with details of your qualifications including the results of any examination, assessment or training course and any accompanying notes and observations regarding your performance (including information received from countries outside of the European Economic Area (“EEA”).
Information which may be provided on your behalf or at your request, for example if:
· Any person makes a booking for any of our training courses, facilities or other services on your behalf;
· You are a minor and your parent or legal guardian provides us with information about you on your behalf; and/or
· We seek verification of any of your qualifications you may have put forward.
Why do we collect this information?
To fulfil a contract with you:
· To provide you with any products and services that you request from us including items purchased from us, coaching and training services and examination and assessment services;
· To register you as a qualification or credential holder
When you attend a course we may use the data you give us:
· To meet our legal and statutory duties and responsibilities;
· To process applications and enrolments;
· To book you on a course you have applied for;
· To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into by you and us;
· Advise you on relevant courses;
· For our own internal records so that we can provide you with a high quality service;

If you are enrolling in a course which is delivered by, or in collaboration with, other training centres or sailing organisations, we will share your data with them for the purpose of advising you on relevant courses, jobs or careers; booking you on a course you have applied for; carrying out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into by you and us jointly; seeking your views or comments on the services we jointly provide; notifying you of changes to our services.

RECORD KEEPING
On successful completion of a Day Skipper Practical or Coastal Skipper Course, your course, your name, contact details, date of birth, certificate number and date of issue will be shared with the RYA through a secure web portal on https://www.rya.org.uk/. The data will be stored on the RYA’s central database. This information allows the RYA to record your qualification, to update any records they hold for you, and to verify or replace your certificate if required. For further information on how the RYA will deal with your data, please see the RYA’s privacy policy at https://www.rya.org.uk/legal/privacy-security-and-data-protection.
On successful completion of any other course your name, certificate type and date of issue will be stored for up to an indefinite amount of time. This information allows us to verify or replace your certificate if required.
We keep this Policy under regular review. This Policy was last updated in July 2024.
